Senior Accountant:

Are you a skilled accounting professional with a background of shipping / logistics / freight forwarding and an Arabic speaker? If so, you are the candidate we are looking for to join a leading firm in Libya.

Explore this exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in managing accounting functions for internal group of companies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead financial statement preparation and analysis in compliance with international standards.
• Develop and oversee budgets, providing crucial financial insights for business expansion.
• Conduct audits and ensure strict compliance with tax laws and regulations.
• Manage and mentor a diverse team of junior accountants, focusing on professional growth.
• Serve as a key liaison for financial communication with senior management and stakeholders.
• Streamline and enhance accounting processes, aligning them with market requirements.
• Undertake strategic financial analysis, delivering actionable recommendations for business growth.
• Lead training initiatives on Middle East specific accounting standards and software.

Required Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• At least 10 years of experience in Accounting, Financial Statements Preparation, Auditing, and VAT compliance.
• Fluency in English and Arabic a must.
• Must have worked in shipping / logistics / freight forwarding industry at least for 5 years.
• Professional Accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, CPA) preferred
• Mastery of Accounting software like Zoho books or Quick books or Tally would be an added advantage.
• Ability to interpret and analyze financial statements and periodicals
• Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Deep understanding of Middle Eastern accounting standards, tax laws, and business practices.
• Proven leadership abilities in managing a diverse team.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Job Location: Libya

Employment: Full-time

Note: Interviews will be done at the head office based in Dubai.

Salary & Benefits:

Salary: AED 14000 – AED 15000 / month
