Operations Manager

Job Brief:

We invite you to join our client’s team as an Assistant Operations Manager in Dubai, where you will play a key role in managing cross-trade shipping, ensuring smooth logistics operations, and maintaining compliance with international trade laws.

Key Responsibilities:

• Cross-Trade Shipping Coordination: Manage and oversee international shipments between suppliers and buyers, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.
• Logistics Management: Supervise all aspects of shipping operations, including freight forwarding, customs clearance, and transportation management.
• Customer Communication: Serve as the main point of contact for customers, providing shipping updates and addressing concerns.
• Documentation Management: Ensure accurate processing of shipping documents, such as Bills of Lading, Commercial Invoices, and Packing Lists, in compliance with international trade laws.
• Cost Management: Monitor and control operational costs, negotiating with vendors and carriers to obtain the best rates.
• Problem Resolution: Address shipping issues such as delays, damages, or discrepancies to maintain smooth operations.
• Team Supervision: Assist in training and mentoring junior staff, fostering a skilled and efficient operations team.

Required Qualification / Experience / Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, International Business, Logistics, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years in shipping, logistics, or operations management, with specific experience in cross-trade or international shipping.
• Strong understanding of international trade regulations, customs processes, and freight forwarding.
• Well-versed in Incoterms and industry-standard shipping procedures.
• Proficiency in shipping and logistics management software, along with MS Office Suite.
• Strong analytical skills to handle operational challenges effectively.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for customer and vendor interactions.
• Ability to ensure accuracy in documentation and regulatory compliance.
• Familiarity with specific trade lanes or regions.
• Certifications in logistics or supply chain management (e.g., APICS, IATA) are a plus.

Location: Dubai

Type of Employment: Permanent / Full time

Salary: AED 10,000 – 12,000 + Commission
