AR Accountant

Job Brief:

Are you an experienced Accounts Receivable Accountant with hands-on experience in contract and project invoicing? Do you have a background in contracting, construction, or property development industries and a strong understanding of UAE VAT compliance? If so, you are the one we are looking for!

The AR Accountant will be responsible for handling financial transactions, maintaining accurate records, and overseeing the accounts receivable process for projects, with a focus on contract invoicing. This role requires familiarity with IFRS 15 and UAE VAT regulations, strong analytical skills, and a commitment to accuracy.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain precise records of all incoming payments to ensure compliance and accuracy.
• Prepare and send invoices for contract and project-based work
• Contact clients to follow up on outstanding invoices, ensuring timely collections and maintaining strong client relationships.
• Reconcile any irregularities in receipts and resolve discrepancies in accounts.
• Collaborate with other accounting staff to maintain consistency in financial records.
• Apply IFRS 15 revenue recognition (input method) for accurate revenue calculations in project-based accounting.
• Ensure UAE VAT compliance, including preparation and submission of VAT returns.
• Conduct month-end closing activities with accuracy, including journal entries, reconciliations, and report preparation.
• Manage cost centers and cost allocations for accurate project budgeting.
• Use job costing methods to monitor project expenses and provide insights for decision-making.
• Control project cash flow, monitoring inflows and outflows to optimize cash management.
• Support audits by providing required documentation to external auditors.
• Utilize advanced Excel functions for data analysis and financial reporting.

Required Qualification / Experience / Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or ACCA preferred).
• At least 5 years of experience in accounts receivable, specifically with contract and project invoicing.
• Experience in the facade installation or contracting industry is highly preferred.
• Proficient in IFRS 15 and UAE VAT compliance.
• Advanced knowledge of Excel for financial modelling and data analysis.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills with attention to detail and accuracy.

Type of Employment: Permanent / Full-time

Salary: AED 8,000 – AED 12,000 per month
